Who is this guy?
Most rabble-rousers are content to pursue one cause at a time, especially if it pits her or him against the power structure. But Burton H. Wolfe, at one and the same time, is suing the State of Florida along with a variety of government agencies and officers while he also engages in a campaign to demolish belief in "Jesus Christ" and the scriptures comprising the Bible that most self-professed "Christians" have never read.
Who is this guy? Is he some kind of crackpot? Does he engage in these outlandish acts because he obtains some sort of sadistic pleasure in doing so? Or is he someone who knows something that the rest of the populace does not know because neither the media nor the educators nor the politicians will discuss it, and he is determined to project it into the public light by any means possible?
Who is this guy? Burton H. Wolfe is the guy who.................
As an award-winning reporter for the Burlington (Vt.) Free Press in the late 1950's,
produced a pioneering, devastating series of articles about the pollution of Vermont's lakes, rivers, and streams - around five years before Rachel Carson touched off the so-called Environmental Movement with her book on the same but nation-wide subject,Silent Spring.
As the publisher of The Californian in the early 1960's,
* Seventeen years before Watergate, exposed Richard Nixon as a Jew-hating crypto-fascist involved with organizations discriminating against Jews and "Negroes" (as people of dark skin color were called then).
* While all of the rest of the media was depicting Caryl Chessman as a murderer, rapist, and kidnapper, revealed that Chessman was not found guilty of any of those acts (including kidnapping as ordinarily understood), but was railroaded via a nationwide campaign of lies and distortion, fostered by the mass media, into the gas chamber at San Quentin Prison for alleged crimes which were punishable under law by no more than 15 years' imprisonment.
* Warned everybody that the Federal Reserve System, under the absolute control of one man, was undermining the entire U.S. economic foundation, engineering billions of dollars of giveaways to the private banks, and steering the nation toward an eventual financial crisis - i.e., what is happening right now.
* Uncovered censored and otherwise unreported studies showing that Coca-Cola corrodes teeth.
* Caught FBI Director J. Edgar Hoover, a raging homosexual busting homosexuals in government to cover up his own homosexuality, in a series of lies that led to the end of his credibility and career in desroying lives of decent human beings who were mostly not guilty of any of his maniacal accusations.
* Stunned the political world by revealing the hidden criminal activities of San Francisco Mayor and Richard Nixon gubernatorial running mate George Christopher - a story picked up by syndicated columnist Drew Pearson, leading to the defeat of Nixon in the California gubernatorial contest against Pat Brown and ending Christopher's political career (but, unfortunately, not Nixon's).
* Was the only publisher at the time steadily revealing big corporations' price fixing, fake ads on TV, and rackets in the health industry.
* After exposing the wretched conditions of farm workers in the central valley of California and making sure Eleanor Roosevelt saw that issue of the periodical, induced her to put pressure on AFL-CIO president George Meany to provide union organizing, leading to the era of Cesar Chavez and organized farm workers (only a very few persons know of the key role Wolfe played in the story).
* Was the only publisher or media person or entity of any kind who exposed the so-called "anti-communist" organizations of the so-called "McCarthy Era" as the products of Jew-hating, labor union-hating crypto-fascists and neo-Nazis - exposures that led to the drying up of their funding and the demise of the U.S. House Committee on Un-American Activities and the California Senate Committee on Un-American Activities.
* Was the only publisher or media person or entity of any kind to reveal that the "big economy size" is more expensive than the smaller size of thousands of products - and he proved it by irrefutable statistics.
As a journalist in the late 1960's and throughout the 1970's,
* Broke the story of how phone company personnel tap into and listen to millions of private conversations,
even broadcasting them to dozens of howling employees in phone company offices.
* Blew the lid on the hoax that the games manufacturer Parker Brothers produced the first Monopoly game as "invented" by Charles Darrow, who in fact stole it from a group of Quakers in the Philadelphia area that was playing the game as it had been played for three decades, with homemade boards (the one that Darrow stole, along with the rules, was the one you see today); and, furthermore, revealed that the true inventor of the game was Lizzie Maggie, a follower of single tax advocate Henry George who developed the game as an educational tool against feudal landlordism and property owner greed and corruption, in contrast to the Parker Brothers' imitation produced as a fun glorification of real estate acquisition.
* Warned everyone who would read his articles on the subject, and/or listen to his talks on radio and television, that the plan to Manhattanize San Francisco would destroy the city - as indeed it has.
* Was the only journalist to explain that the Bay Area Rapid Transit project (BART) was a hoax, that it was not the ballyhooed project to take cars off the freeways and bridges or reduce traffic in any way, but rather was the essential tool for Manhattanizing San Francisco by bringing the necessary hundreds of thousands of workers needed to do so into the city from surrounding areas (ala the Manhattan plan), a gigantic land use plan that within ten years would result in more cars on the freeways and bridges than ever - one of many predictions and warnings of Wolfe's that have come true.
In the 1980's, 1990's, and first five years of 2000,
as the director of the Homosapiens Educational & Legal Project,
* Obtained unemployment, workers' compensation, and social security benefits for scores of persons who either could not obtain help from lawyers or who were told by lawyers that they were not eligible.
* Via a complaint drafted and pursued without representation by an attorney in the U.S. District Court of Northern California, forced the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks to amend its constitution so as to admit women as members, after the purported "fraternity" (but actually a business enterprise under law, as Wolfe demonstrated) had excluded women membership for the previous 107 years even as the women (via the Elks' Ladies' Auxiliary) ran the charity dances, balls, dinners, scholarship programs, etc.
* Via a lawsuit pursued without representation by a lawyer, forced the biggest pharmaceutical house in the world to take a product off the market after showing it caused gastrointestinal problems in a significant percentage of the population, and there was no warning on the package or label.
* Forced the Walgreen chain to take millions of fraudulent labels off of the products it sells.
* Via another in a string of public interest lawsuits that attorneys would not pursue, forced the bank owning the biggest credit card operation in the world to cease cutting off points in its gift rewards system each year and, instead, to permit accumulation of the points on a sliding four-year basis so as to allow small spenders, denied the chance at a gift because of the forced annual abandonment of points earned, to actually acquire enough points to get a reward - a result that has benefited millions of credit card holders who do not know that an old fart in San Francisco (at the time), going it alone in court, provided this benefit for them.
* And a whole lot more - there could be a thousand-page book on the subject.
